Two Bathroom Trends that are on the Rise!

In the ever-evolving world of bathroom design, two trends have been making waves. Let's delve into why these are gaining popularity and how they're revolutionising bathroom aesthetics.

Wood Slat Panelling

Wood slat wall panelling has emerged as a sought-after choice, with approximately one in three of my recent designs incorporating this feature. Its appeal lies in its ability to impart a neutral, organic feel to the space, creating a serene ambience that adds warmth and texture, creating a more inviting and cosy atmosphere. Paired with black or brass fixings, it makes a striking statement.

The launch of Grant Westfield Naturepanel is poised to address this growing demand. With three colour options and waterproof properties, these wall panels are set to become a staple in bathrooms nationwide, offering both style and functionality.

Fluted Design

Fluted design is experiencing a surge in popularity, evident in the increasing presence of fluted elements in bathroom brochures. Whether it's fluted wet room panels with brushed brass, chrome, or black trims, or matching fluted bath screens, this trend exudes elegance and sophistication. What's intriguing is its expansion beyond traditional boundaries – fluted designs are now making a statement in vanity units, basins and bath design. Companies are experimenting with vertical, horizontal, and even diagonal fluted patterns, adding a touch of luxury. Fluted glass offers privacy while still allowing light to pass through. The textured surface of fluted glass diffuses light in a soft and gentle manner, creating a diffused glow rather than harsh lighting.

These trends reflect a shift towards incorporating tactile textures and intricate details into bathroom design, elevating the space beyond mere functionality. With wood slat wall panelling and fluted glass, bathrooms are transformed into havens of style and sophistication, offering a harmonious blend of form and function. As these trends continue to evolve and permeate the industry, it's an exciting time for designers and homeowners alike to explore new possibilities and create truly exceptional bathroom spaces.
